'Bella Young' x Light House

Light House is thrilled to present the private launch of Bella Young, the naughty sister label of tailors Daniel Hanson, on 24th July 2026 in the Chinoiserie Showroom

Specialising in evening- and night-wear, Bella Young’s ethos is simple: to set an example – a sustainable fashion house with no compromise on quality of design, quality of materials, or the quality and ethics of manufacture. Simply the best. Beauty and innovative design are underlined by exceptional craftsmanship, with each garment made by hand in the Daniel Hanson artisan workshop in Nottingham, by his son Nicholas, using techniques honed over generations and the highest quality fabrics sourced from around the globe.

This show of Bella Young’s first two couture collections at the Light House are a meeting of the urban and the bucolic. It includes dressing gowns, kimonos, smoking jackets and casualwear created using a range of fabrics that each tell a story: from genuine antique tapestries and embroideries to unique ‘strike-off’ pieces made from fabric mill test samples.

Also on show is a collaboration between Hanson and artist Louis Slater based on their shared love for spray paint. At the beginning of 2026, Hanson and Slater took turns to shoot spent spray cans – Hanson with a bow and arrow, Slater with an air rifle – in front of an enormous wall of stretched organic cotton, liberating the last drops of paint that can only be released by piercing the can. Hanson has used this original artwork comprising the calculated yet unpredictable explosions of paint to create three unique couture garments as well as a series of further pieces made from silk printed with the design.

Nicholas describes himself as ‘a tailor by heritage and a skateboarder by nature,’ and the two sides of his life enrich his clothing with the spirit of experimentation and play that define his aesthetic.

Alongside the Bella Young pieces, Hanson’s artwork will also be on show in the form of a group of new sculptural assemblages which mirror his collage approach to tailoring.
